Who’s Opening for India.Arie at the Pageant on September 30th?

ME! I got the green­light on Thursday, so life’s been a dizzy­ing blur of activ­ity since then. Things are com­ing together pretty well and I’m very excited about this show.

India.Arie has been a great inspi­ra­tion and influ­ence on me since her first album. When peo­ple used to ask me to describe my musi­cal style, I used to say “imag­ine if India.Arie was a guy,” so I’m truly hum­bled to receive the oppor­tu­nity to open for her.

My New Blog Home

I pur­chased the “cjayconrod.com” domain a few months back and have been sit­ting on it while I tried to fig­ure exactly where I’m going with the web­site. I’m happy to report that it’s quickly form­ing and, in the mean­time, I’ve trans­ferred my blog to this address (well, the “best of” my blog posts, at least). I like this lay­out much more and plan on mak­ing greater use of this blog than my pre­vi­ous one.

I’m still work­ing on the album and I’m pick­ing up steam again, so be on the look-out for some “sneak-peaks” soon. I’ve been in the stu­dio col­lab­o­rat­ing with some of STL’s best hip-hop artists, includ­ing Fallout (of iLL­PHON­ICS), Kryptonite, and Black Spade. I’m really excited about the songs I’ve been allowed put a lit­tle of my soul­ful stank on and I’m still wait­ing to hear back on some future col­labs, but I’m keep­ing those under wraps until things are finalized.

New video post­ings will be com­ing soon. I missed my video jour­nal and I think I’ve got some things I need to talk about soon so get ready. ..
